Clare Crawley first connected with now-husband Ryan Dawkins the same month her engagement to Dale Moss officially ended.
“This picture was taken exactly one year ago,” the former Bachelorette wrote on September 25, 2022, via Instagram. “He asked me to dinner. I didn’t have an appetite. (Stressed & depressed) But I said yes to tea and a walk. Ended up laughing and smiling more than I did the entire last year combined.”
Crawley had an unconventional journey as the season 16 star of the ABC series, ending her stint after two weeks of filming to get engaged to Moss. The pair initially split in January 2021 but reconciled one month later, Crawley and Moss called it quits for good September 2021 and she found The One in Dawkins shortly thereafter.

After spending time as friends in fall 2021, the twosome — quietly — took things to the next level.
“She wanted to keep it private until she was ready to debut him as her new boyfriend. Close friends and family have known about it for a few months now, but it was her secret to tell,” a source told Us, noting that they “built a real solid foundation” before going public.

Crawley shut down speculation that she got lip fillers, calling her swollen lips her “battle wounds” via Instagram.
“Also, no I didn’t get my lips done, it’s the consequence of having sensitive skin + a hot man with a beard,” she quipped at the time.

After a source confirmed to Us that Dawkins popped the question, he gushed about his new fiancée.

“I’m not getting any younger, but I don’t know. We haven’t really talked about it. Obviously, I’m thinking 2023,” Crawley told Us of wedding planning. “I wasn’t even in a rush to get engaged. I thought as long as I found my person, I’m happy.”
She went on to gush: “He is different and more amazing than anything I’ve ever had. He brings so much calmness to me and so much security and is always reassuring and loving and just very consistent with how he loves me and doesn’t make me question it or doubt it for a second. And loving him is just easy.”

“We are having 2 ceremonies,” Crawley explained during a Q&A at the time. “First one is a small, intimate one so that my mom can be there and not [be] overwhelmed. The second one, we have the date chosen, but need to make sure the location is available."
